Panel beater Perth

Postby Escort TC » Mon Aug 04, 2014 11:37 am

Hi,

Anyone know of a panel beater in Perth who has experience with old fords ? I have a 1970 Escort twin cam that is not in great shape, needs the following replaced. Right rear quarter, front guards, front / headlight panel, radiator support panel and front floors. Various rust spots around the car, nothing alarming, typical old esky stuff. There is a bit of work and I have had a 'restoration specialist' quote me $35k to $40k and said it was @2.5 weeks work and I am supplying all the panels!!

There was a panel guy next to Racetune in Bayswater, Ash I think his name was, anyone has his number?

Anyway, anyone who has experience and does not want to shake me down for a fortune.

Cheers

Let's take the most conservative quote of $35,000 and assume that only covers labour. 2.5 weeks at 40 hours a week comes to 100 hours, which means he's charging $350 an hour! If that's normal then I'm in big trouble, as my car needs work too (no quotes yet), and I don't earn anywhere near that amount (few do, and they probably don't drive old Escorts either).

Go and speak to Ash directly. He's a nice young fella if you show you're not a wanker. I know him well and I'm about to send my next project to him to sort out.
