Minilites or superlights??

Postby wayovermyhead » Fri Sep 14, 2012 9:02 pm

Hey all,
I have 15 x 7 genuine minilites on my car at the moment but it also came with a set of 13 x 7 performance superlights. Now my thought is that firstly do i need two sets of different sized wheels? also nessecitating buying more tyres than I might otherwise need to as they are not interchangable. The second thought is if so and I only need a couple of spares would it be worth selling the minilites to generate a bit of cash that would be better put towards getting the car ready for some tarmac rallies late next year. In the mean time i'm only doing the odd hillclimb and supersprint and quite frankly don't care too much about results, to busy having fun.
What are peoples thoughts on 13's v 15's and further to that how much do a set of 15 minilites in great condition go for second hand these days?
I know the minilites are a better wheel but can't seem to shake the thought I just don't need them and may be worth a pretty penny in Oz. A penny better spent towards a new cage.
Cheers,
Llewellyn

Buy some through Ulsterman on here. He has contacts for a direct dealer in the UK. Alot cheaper than the Oz dealer that wants to rip us off...

Llewellyn,
Cracking Welsh name that brother!

It all depends on your tyre supplies and how deep are your pockets? 15's are more available especially if you have to rely on part worns so if this is a need get rid of the 13's.

If like me you prefer the look of a deep dish 13 compared to anything else then sell the 15's and deal with the expense and rarity of 13inch race tyres.

No not magnesium ones unfortunately.

Thanks mark, you make a good point about tyre cost. Maybe it's a false economy hanging on to the 13's in the long run, but they do look soo good also.

Any ideas what people are paying these days for 2nd hand minilites?
