intercooler sizing in MK1 escort

OK guys those of you who have a turbo in a MK1 escort...what size intercooler are you able to fit behind the radiator without cuting too much away core size and photos would be great.

looking at Somewhere between 300-400 HP

Hi mate,

I've got a mk2 with an inter cooler that lives between grill and radiator, basically unmodified body, except for the holes for the piping.

What we did was just create a card board box and keep manipulating it until it was as big as it could be and still fit. Then sent dimensions to PWR. The price was actually quite competitive with an off the shelf unit.

It's on the small side, but E85 has taken care of some of the inlet air probs. Would be mad not to use it!

My Mk1 is fitted with the PWR unit see pic. It was custom made and is intergrated with the Radiator. To do it properly you will have to cut the inner panel though
