After finding a load of small stones embedded in my strut top bearing area I decided it might be time to invest in an air-cleaner. The socks I ran initially did cause the engine to run rich and the dyno (old engine) showed a reasonable advantage in not running them. So after much research I have opted for the pipercross KK600 - I have now been shown the ITG version which uses the same base plate so I might try one of those later:

Since everytime I speak with Danny he berates me re my exhaust I have finally got round to fitting the new headers and making my own 2.5" system. So out with the old which looks pretty nasty in the light of day:

and in with the new - this runs down the drivers side so I had to swap the brake lines over on the rear diff which was a bit of a pain. I now have a nice long straight run off the extractors and a mandrel bent curve over the diff. Sounds louder but not too noisy - I have yet to try it under load:

So tomorrow's jobs - fab rear mount for new exhaust, bleed the rear brakes (again), fit the carbies, clean up trip meter wiring, re-fit seats, fit nav door pocket and maybe go for a drive
