On my car used for dirt rallying I use the original Ford roller tops from the early MK2 Cortinas. These have worked well, but I have had one pull a bearing out, I think this was more to do with a loosetop nut on the strut, this acted like a slide hammer. Only prob with these strut tops is they are hard to get and replacemnt bearings are even harder to get. On my tarmac car I run Noltec ones and found them very good, well made and easy to setup.

im running noltecs, a nice setup and make a difference over originals.
$350 cheaper then a lot

I ran the rubber mount type until I saw a set of proflex struts in a mates car, and figured if it's good enough for the best then...........! Not knocking any rubber mounted set up, but I think if you can remove any possible failure areas then it's time well spent.

Thanks again Roger, I'm definitely on the right track now and not just with the strut tops.
