Bike Plugs

Postby MK1_Oz » Sun Oct 16, 2011 12:00 am

I have been reading a thread on a pommie forum regarding the use of 12mm bike spark plugs in the Pinto motor. As far as I can see the only real benefit (if required) is to increase compression.

I don't recall seeing much written on this forum (and a brief search found nownt) about Aussies using bike plugs. Comments?

I run bike plugs since with ordinary plugs the pistons hit the electrodes and close the gap...

No and if you're using them to fix a clearence issue the bike plug will be recessed into the head a little more and may even cost you horsepower
If you were to buy enough 18mm plugs and mark the insulator and then keep screwing in plug to where you want the electrode pointing sideways then you wont have an issue

Danny: I have a tub full of plugs with the electrode marked for that very reason.
