Is this a good deal for a MK1 Escort front coil over?

Depends really ... If you have access to a welder and have some skills to be able to do them yourself then they are a too dear, but if you dont have that and want to buy and fit then perhaps not.

The coil over kits and a pair of springs arent expensive if you already have some struts to put them on.

I've never looked at these before now, and I'm no expert but the springs look long (see if you can find out unsprung measurement as I could compare it to my coil over length), and they come with kyb heavy duty gas shocks which might be valved wrong and I think gas pressurized don't work well on the front of an escort(?). Plus I don't think kyb's can be overhauled/revalved like a koni.
