RS Focus Green

Anybody know the name of the RS Focus green paint colour? Is it a flat colour or a pearl finish like the orange Focus XR5???

That would be cool if you could Darren. I think it is a nice colour and provided it is a flat colour (I dont think I am capable of spraying pearls or metallics) I will consider it for the Mk1.

So if I have the Ford paint code is that sufficient to give to Protec for them to make some up??

Paint shop who made me up a sample pot said it contained a huge amount of pearl.

Have a look at this site and go nuts. Just about every colour code you can imagine is in there.

I am assuming that pearl is hard to paint. just how hard is it for the first timer? Can it only be done in 2 pack or can it be acrylic?

It can be done in either. My sample is acrylic, as is all the paint on my car.

Best advice I had was to paint the car in white tinter as it'll be much easier to match if you ding the car racing it. I'm pretty sure its the cheapest colour too.

I've ignored that advice and have started painting the car in Focus Frozen white. The bonnet is in Sunburst, which is the colour on the 50th anniversary Falcon XR6. Painting the bonnet (pearl) was no different to painting the doors (flat).

Also had it suggested that vinyl stickers can make it easy to have a colourful car. The sort of thing used on various company cars that are plastered with ads.

Yeah I decided ages ago not to paint on stripes but use vinyl (if I have any black and white bits). Cheers mate
