Thanks Roger. Seen you post that b4 but could not find it.

I have already cleaned that tank out using petrol drained through the bottom drain plug (also useful for oil changes!).

The link you included is 2.4 litres so no where near big enough but I will take a look at what else they have.

So if the fittings I have are BSP then I would have to put an adaptor onto it in order to connect an AN type hose end??? I see from the chart that AN fittings are measured as an internal diamter. Will an AN fitting only ever be the type with the beval cut into the fitting?

You can copy and paste the part number into the summitracing website to get an idea of cost.

Glen do yourself a favour and put the tank on ebay and piss it off and get yourself something decent that you can at least clean properly and that has decent port fittings

You would be bette off buying my bent peterson tank and yes youant at least a 6lt tank because remember you only run them 1/2-2/3's full

Sorry me again.........please hang in there and dont get bored of my need for help.

OK Danny has previously suggested -16AN pressure stage in and -10AN pressure stage out. I have just had a message from the pump manufacturer who are saying that I must use -12AN on both!! The pump I have has -10AN ports on the scavenge sections and -12AN on the pressure section.

I am trying to think through the ramifications of what they have suggested. It appears to me that a -16AN pressure in, although larger than the pump port requires, provides security that oil will always be available to the pump and that oil starvation will not occur? I therefore feel that -16AN only has benefits and no downsides....true?? i.e. manufacturer is wrong??

On the pressure out side, the inlet on the block is a 3/4" UNF which I guess is a similar size to -12AN. The oil pressure that the engine runs at is 'created' by the flow restrictions within the block so hose size in doesnt matter? Using a -10AN hose, on the face of it, seems to just restrict the flow which could fool the pump pressure by-pass into thinking engine pressure is higher than it really is?? I realise -10AN is what people are using and that it works (not trying to challenge anybody) but I just cannot get my head around what difference it would make (if any) using -12AN like the manufacturer insists (other than more cost).


PS - you never said exactly what is wrong with the tank pictured above???????

If the pump manufacturer says a -12AN instead of a -16AN get a decent pump!
As this is exactly the dramas one of hte guys is having on the Turbosport forums from a pommie pump

OK I just spoke to the manufacturer again and they agree the Aussies are right and that the below is OK although swear that they have never had oil starvation issues using -12 from tank;

Pressure in -16
Pressure out -10
Scavenge in -12
Scavenge out -12
