The block number is written as I had it rather than your German one that is 70HM6015B-A (No dash in my number). Mine also has 2.0 written BELOW the block number not above like yours.

Rods are as per the ones on the left.

Is the German block better in any way??

I am still searching for my holy grail......I have somebody in the Uk sending over some information so fingers crossed. I also read that Neville has some parts info so I hope he can help. Others have offered to contact people they know (heard anything yet???).

I may have found the mythical super-session (?) tables within Microcat.

Does anybody have the ability to tell me what the following Finis codes are (Microcat lists the code but details of what they are have been deleted)? I want to know what block casting numbers they relate to;

I believe (hope) the first three are the original RS2000 block and either of the second ones the 205 block.

I have an old OHC parts book from the 70's and this lists the 0800579 as the TL20 block 6/70- GB/D 70HM6010EA .

None of the other numbers are in it (so these must be newer).

I suspect that the code 1639307 is the '205' block and the 1639311 the '200' block....

This TL20 has me stumped....says it is a Taunaus in-line 2000cc block but what the hell is a Taunaus? Should be a Pinto???!!!

Dont suppose that parts manual is in electronic form or is something that you could scan the relevant OHC block pages from??? Sorry, don't mean to push my luck with ya!!!!

Nev, it is surprising that a 1988 parts cattledog does not mention the 85HM6015BB block as I believe this started life in 1985. Maybe there were supplies of the 70HM blocks remaining so at that time no parts substitution/replacement had occured.

Just a wee little update just to keep my quest in people's heads just incase anybody can provide me with the answers I need............. (pleeeeeeeeeease I know you're out there). I am totally sick of researching this - several months and still no definitive answers to present to CAMS (should they ever question my engine!).

I wrote to Ford UK back in mid October asking for various bits of info. Never heard back from them!!!!!!!!!

How bloody hard canit be to build a case that the 205 block is just an evolution/direct replacement for the standard 2L Pinto block?????????? (very hard it seems).
