christmas holidays

seeing as a lot of people on this forum seem to live in SEQ

I am trying to book somewhere in sunshine/gold coast area
for our christmas holiday.can anyone recommend anywhere that
is not $250 + a night?
I dont want to stay in a dump but everywhere seems to be expensive
and booked out !! I know it is christmas but it is the only time I can get
holidays . my little girl wants to go to australia zoo so probably some where near there and the coast.
how far is it to morgan park from the coast?
and I know it is shut at that time but can I get in and have a look
or is it locked?

Can't help with specific accommodation, but the Sunshine Coast, i'm guessing, should be cheaper than the Gold Coast. It's closer to Aus Zoo also.

Morgan Park is a very comfortable 2 hours from Brisbane, add 1 to 1.5 hrs from bris to the coasts. google 'units point cartwright', lots of lowrise apartments around there.

Not really a swimming beach as it's not patrolled.
