I bought one of those synch meters off ebay ($90) and have been quite happy with it.

If you have sidedrafts on an Escort however you will need to make up a dogleg or 90 deg adaptor as they wont fit between the inner guard and the carb......or you can do what I did and buy the correct adaptor part from Burtons.

Thanks for the replys. Have tryed in the past to tune barbs by ear with not much luck roger so i dont even try anymore. Have looked at the item you mention shaun but i am a little concerned about having a 90 degree bend into the carb and this giving a false reading. Anyway have spent the last few days speaking to different people and this is what i have purchased.

Hi Mik, wouldn't you have to have a vacume port on each intake runner to hook it up to?. like motorcycles do.
