Turrets

Hi,

Does anyone have any drawings for fabricating turrets for a Mk 1 Escort? I found some plans that Roger Miller had posted some time ago but wasn't sure whether they would suit a Mk 1 Escort. Also, 1mm steel sounded a little light...

The plan is to modify the rear end to a 4 link system (?) with coil over shockers. I am not sure how hard this will be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Peter, i can help you out with a cardboard template that i used for my car but they are slightly different to the round type that you buy. A little bigger in the diameter and i used 2mm for safety. And to answer your other question it in not an easy job, unless you have worked within the engineering/fabrication industry for a while you will probably find it a little confusing

Hi Mik,

The complexity of making the turrets doesn't bother me.

The things that concern me are:
1. Horizontal position of the turrets.
2. Vertical position of the turrets. If the 80 mm radius is supposed to fit over a Mk 1 OR a Mk 2 inner guard, then this is ok.

The other option I suppose is to buy some ready made turrets.

Anyone know where I could buy these?
