Totaly agree with Craig concerning soda blasting. But another alternative is to get hold of some fine sand casting sand(used in aluminium casting) this sand is as fine and as gentle as soda and about half the price. Also a little more agressive on the hard spots than soda. Does a great job on radiator cores without damage as well.

I may get the boot done too depending on how patient i am! I may remove front wings and heater bubble first also. So plenty of time to plan the spit i guess. . No point in rushing my escort resto as i want it near perfect!
