RS alternator bracket

Don't know, but I have an alloy RS2 alternator bracket here, without bushes. Oh and here is Netherlands, Europe but can post it if you want.

I thought the UK alloy bracket was the same as we got here routinely on all 2L's. Maybe Mark can confirm but I would think there is no point in getting one sent out.

Nev, I checked out Stephen's German RS2 at a recent Concourse and the bracket was different to the Australian RS2. It looked neater and easier to use(!). The german bracket was bolted to the block higher up and not lower down nearer to the sump. I looked like a simple "u" shaped alloy block.

is that the alternatormount or the mount for the adjuster?
Here's photo of a normal Pinto alloy alternator mount (on the left) and the RS2 mount with lowered brackets for the alternator.

An old thread but it seemed reasonable to add to it rather than create a new thread....

I am working through my car to try to make it a little more reliable (2 events and 2 issues!). Classic Adelaide is returning later this year and I want to be ready!

My alternator bracket is this;

I am not sure but believe this is most likely a Cortina item? The bolt holes are approx. 9.5mm and there are no rubber bushes. Due to a suspected alternator failure at the last event and advice at that time from the likes of Andrew Cavelli, I wish to put some rubber bushes on the alternator to dampen the Pinto vibrations and hopefully prevent bolt or bracket breakage. I have already moved to using a nylon tensioner strap.

9.5mm leaves pretty much no room for a bush. Is the version of this bracket that has the bush got a different design? There appears to be too little meat surrounding my bolt hole to bore it out to accept a bush. What model has a bushed bracket and would I just be better to buy one of those?

My alternator (cannot recall what car it is from) also has 9.5mm bolt holes and again may or may not have enough meat to enable me to bore out the hole. When using bushes, are they normally used on the bracket only or should bushes also be used on the alternator itself?

I used the bracket pictured and broke a bucket load of alternators (mainly the mount lugs).
Was also told it was from a Cortina ??
I had one of these in my pile of parts and found some Toyota shackle bushes (superpro) that fitted.
Never broke an alternator since, that's quite a few seasons of racing.

The one in your picture appears to be what the pommies call an RS2000 mount but that I think we had standard here on Mk2 Escorts??????

There are plenty for sale from the UK but has anybody here got a spare bracket for sale as shown in Clayton's photo??

Glenn the bracket you have pictured is the standard Aussie pinto, I have a heap of them off both Cortina and Escort blocks.

The bushed version is a pommie RS2000. I'm not aware of any Australian engines that used them.

have a look at the pic I posted 7 years ago.
The bracket on the right is a European RS item, the one on the left a bushed version of the bracket you now have.
You can have the left one for P&P if that helps you out. (without the bushes)
Bush-size is approx. 24 mm probably the superpro items that Clayton used should fit also.

P&P to you is 20 Euro (std parcel) or 26 Euro (tracktrace).
