I have used quite a few sets of the Newman followers and I didn't think it's a carbide material as it's more of a soft sintered material which holds a film of oil between the cam and follower and they tend to last very well
If only the insert was a bit thicker as I have cracked one in the past from an over rev to 12k when a clutch disc exploded in 5th gear
I've never had to worry about strengthening hte cam towers as all the failures I've seen have had the bearings go blue from oil supply problems which I don't have as I changed the oil is supplied through the cam

we are use a jig. just take out the old bearings and put the jig in

and when it`s welded and done we using ford std bearings

and for us it has workt just fine and we have done it on 3 heads

Which cam did u get eg specs ??? what do you mean? i am not to good on english

our valve springs. left kentcams strongest ~8500rpm vs esslinger roller 10000+rpm :grin:

longer valves for roller or hi lift cams

i will start to work on a new head

i will put in 47/37 117mm valves and some jb-weld on the floor but it vill take som time to wonder how to make it as good as it can be for an allout head

the flowbench is almost done

and one off our pinto extractor

Goes pretty hard though.... any idea on horsepower, either flywheel or at the wheels?
