MK2 escort sump and Oil Pick up - ADELAIDE

As title suggests.

I recently found my Steel Cortina sump wont fit my WC X-Member.

pete unless yu have a cortina sump ????
all yu have to do is fiddle with the eng mounts ,
there is a lot of diferent size & shape world cup mounts
yu will be up for realy big $$ for an alloy sump
even if yu can find one they are as rare as
a politician telling the truth
ps what brand of xmember do yu have ??

Ive been doing my reading and it looks like I have a cortina sump or im guessing the whole 2L from a cortina. Burton sugests I take a careful hammer to the sump being careful "not to damage oil pick up". I really wanted to find another option before going down this path. Also bellhousing is extremely close to the tunnel on the drivers side.

easiest road to go down is to fit a standard escort sump and pickup. that will fit easy.
beating the cortina sump with a hammer wont work, i tried that. you would have to cut and reweld it to get it to work and if your going down that road then you might as well put some wings and baffles in it.

if i remember the cortina pickup is longer than the escort one or maybe it has a weird bend in it, i cant remember, but when i did it i had to modify the pickup to fit the standard escort sump. easier to get the escort one.

the engine wont move a great deal with a WCXM so depends how close your bellhousing is? might just need to massage the tunnel a little..
