tarmac Rally - Cam Selection?

Postby PaulMK1 » Wed Dec 07, 2011 9:57 am

Anyone had any experience with the Kent GTS4 cam?

Power Band 3750 - 8250
Cam Lift(mm) 8.25mm Inlet/Exhaust
Valve Lift(mm) 13.69mm Inlet 13.36mm Exhaust
Duration 312 Deg Inlet/Exhaust
Timing 53/79 Inlet 89/43 Exhaust
Full Lift 106 Deg Inlet
VC (mm) 0.25mm Inlet/Exhaust
LTDC 4.70mm Inlet

Engine will have a ported flowed GRP1 big valve head, forged pistons, steel rods and 12:1 compression (needs to run on 98RON)

Any/all constructive feedback will be appreciated :-)

That is the cam that I have although I am yet to use the engine. 98RON for tarmac rally in the classic section?? I believe you can use unleaded racing fuel but maybe you are choosing not to....

Paul you really want something with a little less duration say 305-306 with similar figures at .050" and closer lobe centres

Cam lobes should be hitting the spray bar.
Ivan Tye cam. R code for a Pinto. Or
I recommend the cross drilled cams Danny can supply.
