I did a bit of work on the car playing around with position the hydraulic handbrake to get round those pesky pins on the classic rally motorkhanas:



Also fitted a T9 to Fahley's blue stripy thing - anyone want a leaky 4speed as it's cluttering up my shed?

Run 1: I was the first car (that's my excuse), I did a very untidy messy run with almost a wrong way
Run 2: I tried too hard to compensate for run 1 and spun
Run 3: Finally got into the rhythm and did a clean tidy run and a good time
Run 4: Much the same a few tenths faster

Apart from a small hydraulic leak in the rear brake lines, the car pulled up OK from the last sprint event so its currently under cover waiting for a wash for this weekends AEM Classic Rally - 22 stages all in one venue which could be interesting (me thinks lots of waiting round while they re-configure stages)

I'm currently saving for the duratec conversion parts so started to look around for "cheap" jobs to do. One weak point of the car has always been the doors! During the initial build I bare metaled both doors etch primed, filler primed, and top coated. Once I finally got the acrylic paint to shine, every dent and crease showed.

So I dragged out one of the original doors and welded up the huge rust whole where some twat ripped off the door mirror:


I then rubbed the whole door back and skimmed with filler (i've been watching too much American Hot Rod). It's now taken two evenings of sweat and tears to rub it all back off again - but at least this door should look a lot straighter:


I still need to re-fill the mirror repair and attempt to get it a bit smoother but hopefully this is a good start.
