Duratec Cosworth cams Problems

Postby ACE » Wed Sep 28, 2011 10:11 pm

He guys just chasing a bit of info Cosworth cams problems for the Duratecs.

I run a Ford Fiesta XR4 (modern day RS2000) which have the 2lt duratec as standard fitment and have been looking at installing a set of cams.

The issue i'm seeing with other people installing these cams is the installer snapping/breaking the cams at time of installation, especially the intake cam.

Has anyone else had this experience with the Cosworth cams when installing them? or shed any light on the issue.

To me it looks like a journal sizing issue, but I could be wrong........any help would be greatly appreciated.

See if this link lets you in to see the pictures.........

Maybe I should just install a 2.5 out of the new Mazda3/6 range instead

Well further to the story........

It looks like it was the installers fault on both occasions that i've seen so far with broken cams. So disregard my previous questions/queries about them.

Thanks,
