nothing wrong with points
mine has been reving to 8
for the last 30 odd yrs
on points
even nevs group c car is still on points
(electronics are just modern day voodoo!)

Pertronix works well too if you can find one of them.

I have a dizzy with a scorcher ignition with a Bosch Gt40r coil. 8.0 top gun Leeds.
You need a ballist resistor to complete the set.

check these out, have been using one for a while, easy to fit, and cheap enough to buy a spare. I bought 2 units for my Kent for $80 landed here for both.

I have most of the components for the XR3000, ie amplifier, Accel coil and wiring. However I'm still using the optical trigger in my distributor. The kit came with shutters for 6 cyl and 8 cyl engines also and if you get onto a Crane stockist they may be able to get you a 4 cyl pick up and trigger.
What are you planning on fitting this too anyway?
