A street escort, engine options?

MK1 escort. Chasing shits & giggles, nothing OTT or expensive. Doesn't have to be a ford motor, but do want DOHC and about 100-150 atw. Just putting it out there to hear a few suggestions if willing. Thanks

Depending on budget I'd seriously consider an S2000 transplant. I drove one once and was quite impressed.
