I'm with George not spending 4k on a crank, as my purpose is for fun and not pure race. Ive had many Tc's over the years in all sorts of cars most around the 140 – 180hp 8–9000 rpm with only issues when mechanics put crap components in (but that another story). Good synthetic oil and preventative maintenance..... you get years out of a engine. BDA's don't have to be expensive to run and build if you take time to source components ( understand different for a full blown race car).

I'm kicking myself I didn't bid and pick up this BDA Head and gear http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0229105203 for $500, no one put a bid on it.

Thanks Paul for your view on IKE etc.... I will see I can get any further info, like where they are made. It just seems too cheap to be true... like the old saying goes.
I have used datto cranks before and if if they have extra steel added then machined it can be a very good counter balanced crank. Every second appendix J TC has one fitted, so the revs arnt an issue.

TC's & BDA's have so many combinations and recipes on how best to build them and with what. I enjoy listening and working through the maze. Sorry to ramble

as an update I found out that the crank and rods i was looking at are Chinese made, there seems to be lots of them popping up on ebay. Also I found this one http://myworld.ebay.com.au/argopeti who claims he is making them in Aus. Has any one seen these or purchased this or the Chinese brands? how did they find them? Time for a new thread?
