I would think a Pinto to be a good low cost option for a Clubman.

Yes you can blank that water outlet off, as long as you provide an alternative outlet somewhere else. Usually what you do it remove the drain plug on the exhaust side of the engine down below cylinders 3 & 4. Put a right angle fitting in there and run the hose back to the water pump. This gives you the added benefit of better block water flow.

Michael, I think we met at the last Motorkhana in 2008 at Willowbank. I was running in a Silver Toyota Echo with my 2 boys. Weren't you sharing with you daughter?

Thanks for your advice - we will run the additional coolant line as suggested.

I will put a photo up in the next few days.

And yes that was us at Willowbank running with the Holden Sporting Car Club. I have five kids who all drive a motokhana so the car works hard for its keep.

Reminder to Dads - the minimum age for motorkhana entrants is 12 and the HSCCQ guys run a good day, so no excuses, come along and see how long it takes for the kids to beat you.

By the way, the next motorkhana is a come and try event at Willowbank on the 21st of Feb. I might have to dust off the other four letter "F" car for the day...

clayton , that looks like a good choice taking off the back of the head ,
that pic also looks like an early tc cortina block ????
any thoughts on linking the back of the head to the rear of the block ??
then back to the radiator ??
