Wiper linkage or just the splined pin part??

Hey folks,

Some little F**ker decided there was a point to vandalising my car the night before the supersprint at eastern creek. My god I wish i'd caught him in the act!!

Amongst other things, they have ripped off the wipers, in the process snapping the splined pin the drivers side arm presses onto. So I need either the whole wiper linkage mechanism for a mk1 or just that part of a whole linkage. I haven't pulled the whole linkage out yet but it looks like that little part could be seperated from the whole shebang.

So if you have something laying around and are either in Sydney or happy to post to sydney give me a buzz on 0402419127. Would appreciate it very muchly.

I've got this mechanism out of a mk1 floating about the shed. Is it of any use to you?



It looks like there is a circlip holding the splined pin on there, do you know if they come off?

Didnt Mk1 OZ have allsorts of rouble with a similar issue in regards to getting the spindle cap.
Not sure what he did but PM him or he might show up soon.

Yes I did JP. If you use that whole mechanism then it won't matter but be carefull if using just the splined pins as the Mk1 came with 2 different pin diameters

Thanks a heap for the offer Pete, I had better pull apart what I have and measure it up before I take you up on that to make sure it's going to work. I'll let you know ASAP.

Llewellyn, both the Mk1 wiper mechanisms bolt straight into a Mk1. Providing you use the spindle caps that go with the spindles then all is good. All Mk1 wiper arms fit all Mk1 mechanisms as the spindle caps are all the same outside diameter.

Thanks Mk1_Oz, one of those things that despite being so simple can be a real pain in the arse it seems.

Anyway it turns out upon pulling my mechanism apart that both the spindles and caps have been ruined, so I really just need the whole mechanism as pictured by Peter.
