Selling my pinto used in my hillclimb car for the last 2 years. All machining work was done by miltons engine developments. The engine has been used for the occasional Sunday drive, hillclimbs, motorkhanas and a couple of track days, plus the kilometres to get it to and from the tracks. No idea of actual kilometres travelled as my odometer doesn’t work, but I would say at a guess maybe 5000kms total in the last 2 years. Always used redline race oils and changed regularly.

• Burtons Bf63 camshaft
• Esslinger adjustable cam wheel.
• 190lb Double valve springs
• 45.5mm SS inlet with waisted stem and 38mm SS exhaust shortened to correct length with bronze guides
• Ported inlets with guide boss removed and roof raised
• ported Exhausts although more can still be removed from the roof and front side
• 14x1.25mm spark plug adapters to fit a wider variety of spark plugs.
• Lynx dual weber manifold matched to the head.
• 41.6cc combustion chambers runs 11.2 CR with felpro gasket 10.8 on standard gasket.
Bottom end
• Weisco forged pistons 0.030” oversize
• Datsun L16 steel rods
• Block decked to have pistons flush with surface.
• Lightened doweled flywheel
• Fully balanced
• Crank scraper
• High energy sump
• High volume oil pump, runs at 50-60psi hot.
• Esslinger crank pulley.
• Waterline plumbed to cylinder no 4.
• ARP flywheel and rod bolts
• Pertronix electronic points in standard bosch distributor, running standard advance/retard with no vacuum as this was what worked best for this engine.
I built this engine to do rallies and hillclimbs and still be driven on the road hence the porting was conservative. On my original genie extractors and 2.25inch exhaust it produced 3000N of torque on the rolling road @ 3500rpms and peak power of 109kw at 5500rpms with 100kw still at 7500rpms when it hit the limiter, this was using 98 premium unleaded fuel. Engine has much more potential, but I have decided to move on to a duratec.
At this stage I am looking to sell as an engine package minus the engine mounts, carbs, clutch and exhaust that is currently fitted. I can throw in the genie extractors and 2.25inch exhaust that was fitted.
If there is enough interest then I will split it into the head and bottom end.
The engine is still in the car at the moment so can be heard running for another few weeks. It will be coming out after Christmas.
