Escort MKI Project Car

Escort MKI rolling shell, early model with 45 degree rear shocks. I bought this as part of a lot of Escort parts, so will tell you what I know about it.

It was built by Greg McCallum of Small Ford Body Works back in the early 1980's. Greg used to have a 2L in it running a 390 4bbl Holley. It has been off the road since 1986 and dry stored that whole time so is a very good rust free shell.

It has a MKII dash with a Capri GT guage set, as seen in the photos. This you can do by using a MKII van dash as they are the same width as a MKI. The whole wiring and switchgear is from a MKII 2L Escort and with the GT gauges it looks really neat.

The shell features the following extras:
Round headlight front
Front quarter bumpers
Auto trans tunnel (large)
Half roll cage
Welded diff
5 leaf rear springs with aftermarket sway bar
MKII under boot floor fuel tank


It is missing:
Engine / Gearbox
Front seats
Enkie mags don't go with it, just normal steelies.
ID plates – somewhere over the last 20yrs the plates have gone missing.

The shell will require repainting as after sitting for 20yrs it’s got it’s share of scratches and a previous repair on the LHS rear guard is cracking. But this is a great shell for that MKI 2L project, as all the hard work has already been done.
