Winton 2011 not bad for no HP and rear steer

Postby Paul T » Tue May 31, 2011 6:11 am

The owner of the blue Nc RS1600 I built 18 months ago is mates with the Bargwanna's, Jason was running an Nc Mustang last weekend and talked David into letting him run the Escort in the last practice session on Friday.

The result was a 1.07.2 lap, Jason's pole lap on Saturday in the Mustang was a 1.06.74 and the lap would have put him P2 to himself.

His only comments after getting out of the car were a bit more rear brake and could he run it instead of the Mustang.

The most impressive thing to me is he did this in car that according to some people makes no horse power and according to others is set up to understeer.

Paul, that is a pretty impressive time for a 1600, I'd be pretty happy with that on the Winton short track. A mate of mine took some photos of the car, looks great.

The times speak for themselves in regard to the horsepower and handling :)
