First, you could try renaming the files to *.mpg.

Last video I took I captured straight from tape into Windows movie maker (XP). Pretty basic, but it seems to work.

Scott, all of my movies I capture straight from the camera into "Studio DV" without any problems, but these were taken by Glenn ("grt") and given to me on disk.

Yep, video can be a right pain in the Too many formats/codecs etc... From my brief research it uses an AC3 codec, maybe studio has an issue with that??

Just find some car sounds on the interweb and overdub it
