Lakeside 50th Anniversary Touring Car 12-14 August

What a great weekend, this could have been renamed the "Lakeside Ford Festival" as there were so many of them on the track. GM made model were not as numerous.
It was also great to catch up with the forum regulars and evryone that came to look at our cars. A special thanks to Aaron for getting on the track and giving the Lakeside officals and the Spactators something to watch other than HQ's and Geminis.
Lets hope next year we have a QR Sedan class and race

Skippys on track going against the traffic

GT3 Porsches running into 1 another between turn 1 & 2 (3 cars taken out)

Sports Sedans bumping and grinding - then one of them losing oil and then there were even more cars going everywhere.

A sheep that unsuccesfully tried to cross the track (now part of a Saloon car grille?)

Mazda Sports Sedan goes past the bridge in the last race of the day and something mechanical goes 'bang' so he coasts to a halt off the track at Turn 4 - at which time a fire erupts that needed 4 extinguishers to put it out.

Yes definately a great weekend - cars wise, crowd wise, racing wise and some nice show cars as well. Great to meet some of the names on the forum and check out the hardware (photos don't do some of these cars justice, you have to see them for real).
My photos aren't nearly as good as some of the others posted already (especially the first one by michaeln of Nev's car, that's poster material that one!!!), but have some good video which I'll post at a later date.

Have to agree with everything said so far - what a fantastic weekend of motorsport. And the crowd on Sunday reminded me of a classic touring car meeting of the 80's and 90's.

Had a great weekend myself. Some really good racing between the Group C/A guys and the last race was an absolute ball. Did my fastest time of the weekend on the last lap of the last race. Had a bit of a "moment" too coming into Hungry which apparently looked quite spectacular to those standing along the fence
As one spectator said to me later - "good catch"

i had a good weekend looking after 2 cars , the mustang with glenn seton
and the sierra for brett , an interesting history to this car
it was the last sierra ever built about 92 with all the eggenberger bits & latest
spec of everything , it only ever did prac & qual then about
15 laps of bathurst before retirement , its never been out
till the weekend , its like a brand new car
glenn did the fastest lap of the race a 56 but was beaten by
those "pack of arseholes" nissans
the sierra did 58s & nevs times were very similar to most
of the escorts in regularity
it was fantastic to see all the escorts together in the 1st
regularity event

My spy said he was a little worried that a certain enthusiastically driven red RS2000 was going to punch an Escort shaped hole in the arm-co during the regularity. He was suitably entertained and very glad that it didn't though.
