Lakeside 50th Anniversary Touring Car 12-14 August

Oh Look! I've been ambushed by the "Group N Mafia". My silly mistake. When I got home late on Saturday night with 400 photos to edit I made the simple error of thinking that the Forum Members might prefer to see a few images of the cars belonging to Forum members!! Sorry about that!!

When I have had a chance to go through the 1000 total images that I took over both days I will make sure that I post plenty of the DOZENS of shots that I got of the Group N cars as well. They were certainly extremely fast and fantastic to watch just as we all expected.

Now for just a little bit of context.

The 2 BDA Group N cars were comfortably the quickest in class and as such ran in clear air all weekend just adding a few dozen more laps to the hundreds already accumulated in the last couple of years.

The cars that ran in "Regularity" driven by forum members were running around in the middle of a pack featuring cars that were lapping as much as 22 SECONDS a lap slower. They were given an extra briefing on Sunday into the dangers involved in passing these cars and told to take it easy. Aaron did run at the front of the pack but was well off his best times as he was generally lapping cars within 1-2 laps. The others were starting mid to rear pack so as to have the fun of overtaking plenty of cars. None of them were worried about outright lap times but had a fantastic weekend chasing each other around.

No it's called just passed two down the back straight probably where I shouldn't have and then while it was moving around under brakes wrong slotted into sixth like a knob but only put two wheels on the grass and kept going

Awsome weekend great to see so many escorts capri's and sierra's out and about great racing by all groups hopefully a few more big events can be held at lakeside in the future.
