As a Moderator on this Forum i'm not supposed to say things that might stir up a Hornets Nest, but...........
1) Why would I want to wear out a car that was built purely to be used as a competition car by driving it around on public roads? We don't all have bottomless budgets to keep rebuilding our cars. I got 8 years out of my car (doing at least 12 events a year) by using it only for the purpose it was built for in the first place, a "competition" vehicle.
2)Nobody can convince me that it is "Legally" & "Legitimately" possible to get my comparatively mildly modified car road registered in QLD.
3) I didn't use the underline and Bold for no reason.

You drove to this event in a road registered car, at no time did I infer that your Mk1 should be road registered and driven on the open road.
The suggestion was for those that have road registered, and do not get out often to do runs or events.
It has often been suggested in the past that something could be organised, but the end result is always a non-event.
Best we leave it at that.
