I think you're missing my point. I'm not criticising him for making a mistake. Everyone does probably more than once everytime they drive their cars competitively. My point is these events are not as safe as other road closed events. The cars that drive in them are not all prepared race cars nor do they have the required safety gear: roll cage, race seat and harness. If you're representing a particular class then the best of this class will not be there. So trying to set a time is relatively pointless. Further all I said was this is a warning not to try too hard at public display events as understandably with a bigger crowd than usual, more coverage etc etc. guys do.

Thanks for the pics Darryl it sure was wet on saturday. I did the first two runs but decided slicks weren't the right choice for tyres so gave it away and decided to wait and see what sunday brings. John Siddons gave us all a lesson in driving on saturday I think he was only 3secs off his dry times which is amazing. I wont embarrass myself by giving my wet to dry times. On sunday it all came down to one damp and two dry runs which was not enough for me to get comfortable with the track and I managed to run off track at turn 4 on my final run which was dissapointing as the 50.1 could have been heaps better and I'm sure would have been close to the skelta. It will have to be next year now. Also when I got home found my new distributor was not advancing, stuck on 18deg when it should have been advancing to 32deg so that would not have been helping matters. Problem has been fixed now and I get to have another go at the skelta at Pittsworth this weekend, has anyone else entered? There will be one night run for those with lights on friday night so shall be interesting as I haven't had a go on the longer track. Lets hope the rain stays away. Does anyone know what happened to d mischock, was a no show at leyburn. Regards. Garry.

hi i Danny had a engine drama at lakeside a few weeks ago not sure if he fix it tho....

Hi Garry
The fuel pressure dropped off 10psi at Lakeside and it ended up dropping an inlet seat when I went to restart it after the last session.
I ended up bending 4 valves and damaged a piston so I've got it apart and we're putting a new set of valves and seats in it with a new piston rings and bearings and should have it back together and dyno'd before I head to the states so I can run it at Noosa
