My thoughts, far from definitive but here you go -

GLENREAGH – SS3/SS6 General Point
Good opportunity to get very close to the action. You may even get wet! I wouldn’t stay there for both passes, but get in early for the first run and it should be good fun.

LOWANNA – SS3/SS6 General Point
A big hill overlooking a nice series of corners. Grab the right spot and you should be able to see a fair bit. If I was spectating I would try and watch one pass at each of these spots.

Saturday – TALARM HALL – SS11/SS15 Enthusiasts Point
I just wouldn’t bother with this one. Small opportunity to get very close to the road but other than that not much to see.

NAMBUCCA – SS11/SS15 – General Point
Couple of nice corners leading to a fairly wide intersection. The road then sweeps left uphill before snaking back to the right.Get a good spot at the top of the (large) hill and you may just see all of it. A good spot this I reckon, don’t miss it.

GRACES – SS12/SS16 – Enthusiasts Point
If they let you down in the paddock on the right at least you would get some decent close up action. For me though, too far from no tenough action. Much better than Talarm Hall though.

Sunday – BUCCA – General Point
I think the viewing area here is too low and has too manytrees in front of it. The only interesting bit will be seeing how bigger cut the drivers do across some poor guys lawn as they TL at the intersection. I won’t be there.

ARRAWARRA – General Point
Not a bad point. Plenty of space and good opportunities toget close to the action in areas 2 and 3. Area 1 is nice and elevated, sometrees in the way though. Shame they turn off the dirt onto tar though.

RED RANGE – Enthusiasts Point
This is the pick I think. Get a good spot at the top of the hill and watch the cars come close by you before turning left downhill and attacking a couple of nice corners. Hope I can get in. This was my best sneaky spectator point, until I realised it wasn't..............

PLUM PUDDING – Enthusiasts Point
Mmm, tasty. You won’t see the cars for that long but you should be able to get up pretty close. It really is an enthusiasts point, rough, rocky and bushy. Rally viewing as we know and love it!

Thanks Cam for the stage info, very helpful.. will cross Talarm off the list and make Red Ranges a priority for Sunday morning.
My plan:
Fri = Shipman's
Sat = Graces
Sun = Red Ranges & Plum Pudding
As for the SSS, i think my ticket had me down for the "McRae Stand" anyone else in that stand?

It's a real long drive from Red Range back down and around to Plum Pudding via Nana Glen etc. It may be better to TL onto the Highway when you come out of Red Range and head north then TL into Kungala Rd and come back around towards Glenreagh via Kungala and Kremnos?

I haven't done this but it looks promising on the map.

Spoke with the set up crew today and my weekend looks as follows. Friday Shipmans enthusiast point, Saturday Graces enthusiast point and Sunday Bucca general point. As my duties are stage security, looks like whilst the stages are running I'm free to spactate!

Well just finished packing the car, so will be heading off after peak hour(s), will stop off and check out the "Shake Down" stage on the way through. Hopefully we can have a catch up with everyone at some stage, no doubt we will see Anthony on Fri and Sat at the enthusiast stages and see John at the service park, as for everyone else see you at the bar!!

Had a great weekend. I caught up with Simon briefly and had a good chat with his family whilst looking at the back of his head as he played photographer on Thursday night!

I had road closure duties on the Shipmans stage Friday where I'd hoped to catch up with Cam but I think he may have been in the other group?! (if you were then I was holding up the bunting as you entered the stage at the enthusiast point ). Finally met in person Woody who drove the Mk2 Escort in the Classic Outback Trial 2009. We got back to town quite late that night so missed catching up with anyone.

Saturday we were out on the Graces stage and had an awesome road closure on a crest after a 400m straight followed by a series of 3rd gear downhill corners.

Sunday was a road closure at the speccie point on Bucca, sitting on the inside close enough to read what brand of shock absorber the cars were running!

The rest of my post shall consist of why I hate Kingy . I ring Kingy on my way into the pre rally show, joking about how I'll stick to him like glue as he always ends up getting photos with the drivers and crews. "Oh hi Tanz, want to talk to Seb?" the arsehole was standing at the stage in the main street and Sebastian Loeb had just climbed out of the car beside him. I wander off to the SSS and my phone rings in my pocket (Kingy), so I answer it thinking we might catch up for a drink at the Fisho's. No, he's up in the corporate stand waving to me to let me know I'm missing out on Crownies and Seafood! Saturday was pretty quiet so I figured he hadn't done anything of note. Then he spots me at the speccie point Sunday Morning, rings me up and when I thought I'd gone one better by being inside the corner close enough to touch the cars, he tells me the story of how he and Ed had walked into the Ford camp the night before! Apparently having a media pass will get you just about anywhere!
