Rally Australia 2011 (Sept 8-11)

I caught up with him as he and Ed were just leaving the Ford tent. Bastard indeed.

Your name was called at at our meet up on Friday Anothony, but I assumed you'd slept in as you didn't show.

After my mate Bernie had finished instructing our advance crew of the right way to get us into stage, I stayed behind at our point which was right next to the Lowanna speccy point (behind the porta loos), so I didn't come through your spot.

The crest down into the left kink on the old railway line proved a little tricky. We had Mark Pedder go off in the morning and Peter Roberts in the afternoon. Poor old Marks car sort of caught the rails and followed them into the bush. the car was fine but it's guts were sitting on the rails and the wheels were all dangling in the air. I'll stick up a few crappy photos when I can get my photobucket account working again.

Hi All had great fun at Coffs doing the Super special here is some roof top footage shows it could be a bit tight
between the armco if you lost the back a bit. This run was in the dry and it was day light so was good fun the other runs we did in the wet where a little bit more slippery and harder for the old eyes to see just as much fun may be more
I will post a night/ wet run
It was a shame that I didnt get the chance to catch up with many people may be next time

Well i had a couple of non rally mates come up from Sydney, thinking it would be drinks and a catch-up + cars, cool!, but when they where getting awakend at 5.30am to get ready for the days stages it was'nt good especially Friday when it rained and rained some more, i was a little worried, but after getting showered in mud by Loeb and giving them the Air Horn to use it was all good!!!!
As all have said, it was a much better event than 2009, just with the town(s) support, stage locations being closer, etc made it very enjoyable. Sure there will need to be improvments, including some better specy points but overall much fun had by all... was great to catch up with Simon and a BIG thanks to John for letting us in IYK

Michael,
It looks like you were at the Shipmans enthusiast point on Friday? I think I'm one of the orange vests in the background. Unfortunately there were some major hold-ups getting us out of the stage that evening and I didn't get back to Coffs early enough to catch up with anyone. I think you may have the photos of John's car back to front as there seems to be a wet spot on the drivers seat, which would have been AFTER Simon got to sit in it! Must plan next time much better to only officiate for 2 days so there's a lay day to catch up with all you guys properly!
