Just found a 1960 Les Paul standard in a store in LA!

I am mounting my Peterson tank in the same position on my Mk1. I am a little concerned regarding its vulnerability if the rear end taps something. I am thinking it wouldn't take much of a hit to split the tank????

Has anybody got any thought on this especially whether its worth making some sort of a stiff loop from the chassis rail around the tank so that any hits dont damage the tank? Worth it? Overkill?

Don't want to exit an event from a minor dent in the rear quarter......

Glenn you're thinking too much again!!
The stiffer you make everything the worse it'll be as you want the tank to move if you hit something in that corner as my white car had a very basic bracket riddles with holes and in the accident it bent allowing the tank to survive as the only thing that happened was the bottom of the tank got pushed in to the rail and pushed it out of shape but it still sealed as I was planning on using it until Gary started whining that it didn't look pretty enough and now a mates bought it for his own car

Fair call. Maybe 6 bolts through the floor/chassis rail are too many then. Looks like you use 3....

Steve there where quite a few of them as well and everywhere you went on the strip expecially at night there were latino's clicking these cards with photo's and phone numbers of girls they guaranteed would be at your room in 20mins for $69!
You would have been set for days!
But no I didn't spend any money with them and didn't even pump any money in a slot machine but today I'm leaving Santa Barbara after going to the Styx and Journey concert last night and I'm going hit Norman's Rare Guitar's in Tarzana and The Guitar Centre in Hollywood to see what I can find and then maybe dribble down to Richard Iskendarian and maybe Cosworth

No don't need an open cheque book but have three rather large credit cards and just transfer loot when I get back as I'd get a big chunk of points to come back again as I did this one on frequent flyers and have a shitload left
I did get very tempted by a Gibson Custom Shop Marc Bolan Les Paul yesterday as it's $8000 in Oz but they had it for $5000 but he only dropped 200 but he was trying really really hard to sell it so I'll let him sweat
Going to Disneyland today and Cosworth, Cunninghams and Richard Isky tomorrow and maybe pop into see John Barnes
