To buff a tyre I have seent he race tyre guys install the tyre on a rim, insert in a balancing machine type thing and basically carve away at the rotating tyre with a ham slicer (well not really a ham slicer but similar) reduces tread depth which in turn reduces block squirm which in turn produces longer life. Its hard to watch brand new tyres having dollars shaved from them!

Looks like a painted rim and centre, and not a machined front lip or is it just the photo?

My weight guess in the pool for a 15x7 is ......... 10 kg

My wheel and tyre were 15 kg all up, so I guessed 5 kg for a 50 series tyre!
