Yeah I dont see the map swap a problem or get a flex fuel sensor and let the ecu do the work.

Motec want your children as a down payment to open up basic features.
Adaptronic give them to you, but you are their beta testers.
if your motor is worth $8k or more Motec is good insurance.
I would have to add it up but I dont think Ive got more than 5-6k in my money pit of an engine .

Take me back to the days of tuning carburettors , recurving distributors and plug chops when stuff got really hard at least their were people around who knew more than I did when i got in trouble.

out of curiosity Paul, do you run the coil on plug system?
if so, what igniters did you use?
i don''t have any of the original ford gear so was thinking about the microtech x4 igniter which is supposedly fairly easy to use with the adaptronic.

ahh yes, the old tuning with the screwdriver instead of the computer.... i remember those days. makes me feel old...

coil on plug with a microtech x4 here with the x4 grounded to the cylinder head and firing order is 3-4-2-1 due to the cam sensor position. dwell set to 2ms, Ive looked for the data sheet for the coils but couldn't find them . Very similar ones suggested 1.6ms dwell

Motec starts at 1950 and if you want to run the VVt you're talking 2500 but if you want to screw around and email files around the world and keep going backwards and forwards to dyno's waste your time blowing engines feel free
