Engine home getting ready for dyno



Final Spec;



New old stock late sapphire 2wd head ported.

New 200 block 6 long studs.

New Mahle pistons with valve reliefs.

7.5:1.

Solid Lifters.

WRC gasket.

Harvey SCS cams.

Quaife alluminium adjustable pulleys.

Shot peened standard rods.

Standard crank.

Mountune oil under piston jets.

Peterson dry sump.

All holes blocked/tapped with releif valve in side of block and vacuum reg in rocker cover.

2wd exhaust manifold (hpc coated).

T4 maram shaft/wheel (hpc coated rear housing).

RS500 gen intercooler.

RS500 gen manifold.

Modded fuel rail centre feed.

2000cc Injectors Dynamics.

E85 fuel.



Just got mount the new 140a brise alternator nice and low and fit the manifolds.











Hope it holds together!

Lost a few gaskets in the mix so slowed down final engine assembly for a bit



Thought I would show you and good plating solution I have found. I hope you all know you should not plate hubs, axles etc because of embrittlement possibly caused by the process (hydrogen and nitrogen trapped). Found a low temperature phosphate plating that is AOK.



Looks cool too like the grey cast iron. And pretty easy to mask certain areas (with race tape - 1002 uses!)

























Also you can see the mods for the centrelock conversion - turned smaller id and od.

Set the turbo up with the ceramic coated housing and manifold. Cannot believe how close it all fits.
Those cosworth engineers must have breathed a sigh of relief when it all just missed.










Had to grind the lug on the head to fit the compressor housing - I assume this is standard practice??

Got the gaskets and sensors so it is full steam ahead - athough had to order some silicone hose I needed. And fucked up a few Speedflow/aeroquip fittings.... damn that @#$% is addictive..... and expensive



Mounted the harmonic balancer and crank trigger wheel - thanks to Paul and Danny.



Also made sure the injector dynamics injetors fitted. Got to mod the loom.

Fitted a few more things;



Tanks powdercoated matt black.







Rear diff in. Still missing side plates to support diff (not painted yet).



















More aeroquip.



Block pressure relief.







Center entry fuel rail and fitted the MASSIVE injectors.

Once again I apologise for the image quality - at the dyno I will take many better quality images.



I love this solution from dry sump to engine. Fits so well I used a remote take for an oil cooloer to get the oil in (blanking one side) and a stubby regular filter just fits. It all clears the plenum just too!!!!

And the alternator mount - standard mount just turn the alternator upside down - really far from manifold!!!!!! Wish I'd bought an opposite handed alternator as the adjuster (with will come off the dry sump pan) would have been a lot shorter.

I am loving the way the rear end is sitting at the moment - just stringlined it all up.
