It has never been an issue on my car either (also with front spoiler). Might be more to do with the angle of the straps.

Some more progress over the last 2 weekends. I've got entries in for the MG Hillclimb on the 28th and 29th and then the regularities at the HRCC Autumn meeting at Morgan Park 2 weeks later. Finished off the swaybar mounting bracket today and all the front end is back together. I raised the spring seat up 5mm also which should bring the car up to level. Need to do a wheel alignment tomorrow.

Thanks Matt, the dash is just speaker box carpet held on with Sika contact adhesive.

Lights and front bumpers went on today. Not the best examples of front bumpers, but it should at least keep the scrutineers happy, now that i finally have some....

Top work Scott, and your anti-dive kit looks pretty spot on, almost identical to mine which I bought off an old Twin Cam years ago.

I'll be at Mt Cotton watching on the 28/29 April.

Morgan Park was quite successful last weekend, once again the list of 'upgrades' required grew a bit. There was some fuel issues with the 32/36, it didn't much like the tight right-handers and would starve of fuel for a bit. Apart from that I was very happy with the way it went for only it's 3rd event. 820kgs on the scales makes it 110kg lighter than dad's car, the better handling and braking being quite evident. 4 regularity events over the weekend, finished 2nd, 8th, 1st and 3rd with a best lap time of 1:39.2

Well done mate. Love the pit setup. My car was 865 on their scales. Bloody boat anchor Pinto!! Are you running a fuel pressure regulator?

No reg Gary, but I don't think that's the problem as it was happening only around the tight/long right-handers. I initially thought it was the pickup location on the tank but i brimmed it before each event and it spluttered out of Gumtree and Siberia from the first lap. I lifted the float level 5mm which helped a bit, but the problem was still there. Might need a bigger float valve needle/seat too...

Yes well done Scott on the results. Looks like you had an area all to yourself with no cars in the background, plus thought it would handle and brake a lot better with less engine weight up front, especially down to the gum tree.

Yeah, along with the pedal box giving a much better balance than dad's car, less weight made it even better. The guys in the big cars couldn't believe it when i told them i wasn't on the brakes until AFTER the 50m sign into turn 1.

I love the 'take grandma's car and race it' theme this car has.

Also, what are you doing with the interior bits that you're not using?

Hi Trentie, yeah, I was there for the autumn historics on 12th/13th May. Still needs lots of sorting, I should have the electronic distributor and sidedrafts on it for the next meeting in July. It won't get any bodywork done until I have my shed up and running so it will look a bit 'weathered' until then.

What bits are you chasing? I have the seats and carpet, all in the lovely brown as shown earlier in the build thread.

A quick update before Morgan Park this weekend. Hopefully I've solved the fuel issue by bolting on these:

I've also fitted a wideband O2 sensor so that I can see how it's running, as well as a new tailshaft and quickshift. Off to the garage to finish packing.....

yes, it has....eerily easy though so i'm expecting something else to play up...i wonder where that puddle of oil is coming from....
