Cheap way to get more castor - or dumb idea?

When replacing the TCA's recently (Paul T's std replacement items with the rubber bushes) I got the idea to shorten the steel bush in the swaybar mount by about 7 mm, squashing the rubber bush more and thus pulling the TCA forward when tightened onto the swaybar.

The steering does seem to return to centre more easily and straight line stability is better so I'm happy. Question is, have I upset some other aspect of the susp/steering setup and mistakenly done Something Very Stupid?

I guess it achieves the same result as machining a longer thread on the bar and winding the TCA forward.

Sounds like a good idea as I assume it moves the TCA forward by half the distance of the material removed from the crush tube?

i am about to machine up some NYLON bushes & large stepped washers for my tca,s as i get extra castor with the same principal
i have got spherical bearings on the iner end of tca,s to allow them to angle fwd
ps trim down the ends of the anti roll bar after the nut
because it can hit the caliper & lose some total steering angle

The Powerflex bushes from Burton Power in the UK do exactly this, have used them for years (unless the design has changed recently)
