I have the grp4 ones and have found them to be a great item. however, my car hasn't been used for anything serious yet. I also had the opportunity to buy direct (face to face from torsten the bloke who runs grp4 whilst getting a full guided tour of his workshop) and they were very reasonably priced so I certainly cant complain.

Here are some observations from both the pictures and from talking to some guys in the UK:-

The RD strut has not enough thread on the tube to allow for a 14 “ spring (which is the most common used in both the UK and Ireland)
You can see the GRP4 tube is threaded right down to the gusset and the RD one is not….so you cannot lower the car enough on long springs.

The RD design ones have a lot of sharp corners on the machined spindle---surely a stress point.

RD has remade the RS steering arm also, but lots of failures on rally use in the UK.
So I would be dubious about the struts also
