Aust RS2000 Rear Suspension

Various classes of rules exist that preclude the addition of rear suspension links/ bars, notably type 1/2 speed event vehicles and rallying.

What are the best club motorsport solutions for the rear suspension?

With the classes you're listing, can you at least add the RS trailing arms as found in the UK? That's certainly the best of the simple additions you can make.

If you're stuck with the standard Aussie setup, then the critical item is to get the springs and shocks correctly matched. Work out your desired ride height and spring rate, then match to a good pair of adjustable shocks (like Koni's). Make sure all rubbers are new. Try it with and without a rear sway bar (will depend on what susp is up the front, and your driving style).

Lastly, invest in a decent LSD. Don't bother with a Quaife, go for the Ford Motorsport clutch plate type. Palmside in NZ have then for $1300 new, or one sold recently on ebay for $1000 second hand. You can buy clutch kits for them so they are rebuildable.

That will give you a reliable & very functional rear suspension which will be fine for 99% of your club sport activities.

To be within the rules for "bastardised production", u will have to be using leaf springs. ?

U also state that u are getting more grip off the line??

U are not using the RS links are U ???
