Road Car Tyre Rub
Got a couple of teething problems with the newly registered car. Running 13 x 7 Rebels with 205/60 tyres all round which meet requirements in terms of width and offset. However I've got tyre rub on drivers side rear (not huge but constant enough that it needs some attention).
What are the best ways to fix this short of folding the lip of the guard over (that might be a marginal patch job, not a 'fix')
I was looking at replacing the rear springs as the ones that are in it are very low. I figured I'd raise the back of the car an inch or so and that would (might?) solve the problem. I've had the luxury of having the 2 RS's side by side and the Yellow car looked like it was sitting on stilts beside the white car.
I check King springs web site and it looked like they only had 1 option (but they can probably make variations on these)
Other solution was to take the wheels to a wheel guy and get the hub machines to bring the wheel in.
Any ideas welcome.

I don't think raising the back will help. Has it ever hit anything? it doesn't take much to tweak the swaybar back a bit. Been there, done that... Do the wheel centres (wheelbase) measure the same on each side of the car? An adjustable sway bar and/or antidive kit might help. How are those shockies going?
Not aware of any hits (Shaun didn't disclose anything when I bought it from him - and I know he would tell me the truth). Maybe its a case of loosening up all the bolts in the rear end, slide it around a little bit and tighten everything up so it doesn't touch.
Shockies are great - best things that I've ever had (but take into account this is the first time I've pulled a car apart and re-built it) I've only got it on the road this week, and have set them to 7 (might be a bit too hard for the street). Just waiting to sort out a few irriatating issues, squeaks, rattles and get it on the dyno then we can have some fun.

David, I ran 7" Rebels on my MK2 road car for many years and always had trouble with tyres rubbing and and MK2's always seem worse on the drivers side.... wierd! I had the lips bashed up as much as possible but that didn't fix it. I reckon the only way might be to actually pump the guards out. You will probably find that the "witness marks" are actually at about 2 oclock on the drivers side and 10 oclock on the passengers side where the body starts to roll under.
