Type 9 Pull Down

Postby MK1_Oz » Thu Dec 22, 2016 10:13 pm

As mentioned in another thread I have a T9 with Quaife H/D S/C synchro internals. I have pulled all the box apart but cannot get the mainshaft separated from the intermediate case. I have removed the very large circlip that holds the bearing into the intermediate case and also the small circlip around the mainshaft. Is that all I remove then press off the shaft? I don't have a home press but made something that wouldn't budge it. Will take it to my works workshop tomorrow to see if they can help but just want to ensure I am doing it right before I break something!!!!!

Just after I typed my previous entry I finally found a Quaife diagram of the HD gearkit (turned out to be under my nose). I am pretty sure I know where it goes and will pull the box down in a minute (separates cage roller bearings under #1 gear.)........I hope........
