Crossmember Ideas T9 into MK2

Postby Gary P. » Sun Jul 15, 2012 1:45 pm

Whilst I have the Ghia off the road I am going to put the T9 that I have in it. The Gearbox Crossmember mount on the T9 is approx 50mm further rearward. What have people done to allow for this?

Drill out the spot welds on the floor mounts and move them back 50-60mm and you will also need 25mm spacers between the floor mounts and the cross member. You will also have to allow for the stick being further back.

Thanks Gareth. I've dealt with all of the gearlever issues on another Ghia that I put a T9 in some years ago. I forgot that that was an Auto shell and the crossmember lines right up!! Not with the manual shell though.

I'm pretty sure i used the 4 spd xmember and welded new brackets to the tunnel. #@$t of a job though!
