RS2000 RACE CAR

hi im just after some information / history about this rs as i've just bought it recently if any1 has seen it at past events over the years etc. past owners. its always been white sticker kit has recently been added. its a genuine rs2000 Snowhite 1979 has 2l pinto big cam twin 45's twister extractors etc. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

By the time I spotted this on ebay it was already gone, looks like you have picked yourself up a bargain !

There are a lot of people on this forum that have been around alot longer than I have, so someone may know something :lol:

Congrats on the purchase Mic. Like Damian I saw that and thought it was a bargain so well done for being quick =D>

Does it have a CAMS log book? If so what class is it logged as and does it have any race meeting entries. That might help identify it's past a little better.

thanks - yes it has a 3j improved production cams log book but it was logged this year previous owner hasn't have any logged events in it and previous log book had been lost through the years by the other owner not sure who. its very straight back quarters have been knocked out at some point in time few little usual rust spots but front guards dont appear to be ever taken off as spot welds are all perfect and match up very orginal under the bonnet orginal sticker still on brake booster and under bonnet sticker corrosive damaged oviously but original paint in engine bay. Ive spoke to cams but they dont have the resource's to track by chassis numbers etc as previouse owners would be more helpfull to check where it has been raced. the car was sold in wauchope nsw 1979 but nsw and qld have no record of the car ever being registered which is very interesting still to call other states. have been told its been a qld car for many years

Michael I would be too surprised about there not being any record of it being registered in Qld as my own car which I de-registered in 1996 and re-registered at the beginning of last they had now record of it as it was and older computor system as I had to pay the stamp Duty again as I didn't take any previous rego info with so I filled out a stat dec to say that I payed $2000 for it and handed over my $40. so don't be too misslead by there being not much trace of the car as something will turn up

Also any suggestions of best dyno tune places in brisbane / logan / goldcoast someone with years of experience takes the time to do it properly as our usual over the years has recently retired.

in need for some info seen so many different comments about running just trumpts and the dangers of running without filters whats the best option do i run 2 seperate filters 1 long fillter eg pipecross filter or get a airbox made up

Great looking car. Don't run it without filters, it is way too dusty in QLD. Either K&N or Pipercross would be best but expensive. Michael, what type of events are you intending to do with the car?

thanks, at this stage i'll be running alot of the sprint events as i'm new to the racing scene basically just get out and have some fun will be running out at willowbank, lakeside, morgan park, mt cotton etc been more involved in ford capri's over the years car shows etc. ive checked out pipecross in the uk not bad prices with the current aus dollar

Be warned as a filter medium the Pipercross are rather ordinary and if possible I would stick wiith a K&N but you will need to check how much clearance you have between the carbs and inner guard
