After sorting the busted speedo cable i've decided i want to sort my interior. After taking all the seats, carpet, underlay etc out i have found a bit of a rust spot in my drivers floor[B)] I have a mig and figured i can grind the rusted spot out and plate it up. Any hints on doing this? Iv'e taken the battery out to give it a bit of a charge so no power is hooked up. Is there anything else that should be disconnected before i weld?
After doing that im getting some proper underfelt for the carpeting to help with noise/heat. I have been quoted $15 per 1m by 2m sheet which is apparently better than the horse hair looking stuff that was originally used. I was then thinking of using dynamat or simillar for the inner firewall.
Once thats done im hoping to finally get my custom console made up. Say 16mm mdf cover in either black carpet or vinyl. I want to make it so it covers all the way to the handbrake then get some custom gear and handbrake covers stitched up. Will try and make it so that it accomodates the cd player, 3 gauges, make it deeper (pommy RS style?) ie all the space usually behind the stock console and somehow cup holders[:p]
Any advice/tips/tricks much appreciated guys, Just want it all done so i can drive her again[:-(]

Just discconnect the battery and alternator and you'll be fine

Good stuff, What about electronic ignition? Iv'e got the crane cams xr700. i definately dont want to fry that
