new toy

Hi Guys

Wel its been a while since my last post..been awfully busy

Basically between 14 - 21 I had an awesome Mk1 2dr. I spent ever waking moment and every cent I had on it. My pride and joy. Bright red with a black roof. Long story short, someone crashed into it, wrote it off and Ive been looking for one ever since.

that was until now!!

My amazing wife and brother got me one for my 30th birthday. same exact car (minus the black roof) except this one is 2ltr

I have a mountain of things i want to do. But the main thing is the panel and paint is pretty good. straight, no rust and good paint. next it needs full rubbers/seals, i think minilites will look good, and new suspension throughout. then a new exhaust should see me looking good

anyway im off to start playing with it

but after going through the forum, and researching parts etc Im now completely stuck on where to start

I just want to get it out and drive

You guys got any tips?

i figure under body is best place to start, strip out all the suspension and brakes then work up from there

Look no further if your after information.
Couple mad keen Mk1 owners around here.
Please share what rust you don't find.
Throw some water down the vent before the front screen, to see if the heater area is ok.
