Why would you want to go re-wire the entire car? I assume its so you can eliminate any future problems with old wires and connections which is admirable. However, judging by some of your comments you, by your own admission are not an expert and I see this leading to tragedy, well wasted money and time. ther are many more things to be done on your car first before you rewire the bloody thing, do you know the standard loom is problematic, have you tried repalcing it with another.
I fear with limited Knowledge you'll end up with a bigger problem, especially if you start hacking other cars apart for more secondhand parts and then try and join them together, too many differing coloured wires such that no expert could make heads nor tails of it. Ford probably invested a couple of hundred pounds in R+D back in the day into their looms, use that knowledge and build on it, repair connections where necessary, upgrade with new on critical circuits, but mostly, finish the car off and get out there driving.
